Chronic Conditions in Pets
Why Choose PetWellClinic® for Chronic Condition Management?
Just like humans, pets can suffer from chronic conditions that require ongoing management and care. Chronic conditions are long-lasting health issues that can significantly impact your pet’s quality of life. Common chronic conditions in pets include arthritis, diabetes, kidney disease, heart disease, and skin allergies. These conditions often require regular monitoring, medication, and lifestyle adjustments to ensure your pet remains as healthy and comfortable as possible.
At PetWellClinic®, we understand the complexities of managing chronic conditions in pets. Our experienced team is dedicated to providing personalized, compassionate care tailored to your pet’s unique needs. We offer convenient, walk-in care with no appointment necessary, making it easier for you to keep up with your pet’s ongoing treatment plan.
Our clinics are equipped to monitor your pet’s health effectively. We also emphasize open communication with pet owners, ensuring you’re fully informed about your pet’s condition and the best treatment options available.
Common Chronic Conditions We Treat
Arthritis
Arthritis is a common issue in older dogs and cats, leading to joint pain and reduced mobility. At PetWellClinic®, we offer a range of treatment options including pain management (like Librela™ for dogs), supplements, and lifestyle recommendations to help your pet stay active and comfortable.
Diabetes
Managing diabetes in pets requires careful monitoring of blood sugar levels, regular insulin injections, and dietary changes. Our team will guide you through every step of managing your pet’s diabetes, providing support and education to help you feel confident in your pet’s care.
Kidney Disease
Chronic kidney disease is often seen in aging pets, particularly cats. Early detection and management are key to slowing the progression of this condition. At PetWellClinic®, we offer regular check-ups, blood tests, and customized treatment plans to support your pet’s kidney health.
Heart Disease
Heart disease in pets can be managed with the right combination of medication, diet, and exercise. Our vet care teams will work with you to develop a care plan that suits your pet’s specific needs, helping to maintain their heart health and overall well-being.
Skin Allergies
Chronic skin conditions and allergies can cause discomfort and lead to infections for your dog or cat if not properly managed. We provide thorough diagnostic services to identify the underlying causes of your pet’s skin issues and offer targeted treatments to relieve their symptoms.

Walk-in vet care, like what we offer at PetWellClinic®, is designed for non-emergency situations like preventative care, vaccinations, minor illnesses, or physical exams. Because of our walk-in model, no appointments are ever necessary at PetWellClinic®. Our clinics are open for extended hours of operation and on weekends, allowing you to stop by when you need us!
Emergency vet care is for critical situations that require immediate attention, such as severe injuries, sudden illness, or life-threatening conditions. Emergency vet clinics are equipped to handle these urgent cases 24/7, providing intensive care, diagnostics, and treatment.
While PetWellClinic® offers accessible walk-in services for your pet’s routine health needs, we always emphasize the importance of knowing when a situation requires emergency care. If your pet is experiencing a medical emergency, it’s crucial to seek help from a specialized emergency veterinarian without delay.
At PetWellClinic®, we focus on preventive care, diagnostics, and the treatment of minor illnesses for dogs and cats. To keep your costs low, we do not provide certain services, including:
- Surgical Procedures: We do not perform surgeries, including spay and neuter operations or more complex surgeries.
- Dental Care: We do not provide comprehensive dental services, such as cleanings or extractions.
- Emergency Care: We do not handle emergency situations that require immediate, intensive care, such as severe injuries or life-threatening conditions.
For these services, we recommend consulting a full-service or emergency veterinary clinic that can address your pet’s specific needs. You can ask your local PetWellClinic® team for recommendations if you aren’t familiar with options in the area.
