Two Organizations, One Shared Mission
When PetWellClinic® connected with CareCuts, a Knoxville-based nonprofit dedicated to serving individuals experiencing homelessness, the alignment was immediate. CareCuts operates from a foundation of dignity and compassion — meeting people where they are, without judgment. It’s the same reason we built a walk-in vet model: because access to care should be available when you need it.
At PetWellClinic®, our mission is to provide high-quality, accessible veterinary care to every pet in our communities. For us, “every pet” has always meant exactly that. So when the opportunity arose to partner with an organization already doing boots-on-the-ground work for some of Knoxville’s most vulnerable residents, we didn’t hesitate.
Vet Care, Delivered On-Site
Members of the PetWellClinic® Knoxville team joined Dr. Sam Meisler, our founder and CEO, on-site to host a free rabies vaccination clinic. Anyone who showed up with their dog got their dog vaccinated. No fees, no forms, no hoops.
Loving your pet and being able to care for your pet are two different things when money is tight, and transportation isn’t guaranteed. That’s the gap this event was designed to close. For the dogs and owners who came out that Sunday, it was just someone finally making it easy to say yes to care.
Why It Matters Beyond the Clinic
A vaccinated dog protects more than just itself. Rabies vaccination is a community health issue — and in a city like Knoxville, gaps in coverage affect everyone. By extending preventive care to pets whose owners may not have regular access to veterinary services, events like this one contribute to a healthier, safer city for people and animals alike.
