Special Offer For National Pet Dental Health Month

February is National Pet Dental Health Month and we are such strong believers in the value of dental health that we are again offering a $100 off dental cleaning special through our partner hospital, My Pet’s Animal Hospital—great news for your pet’s health and happiness and for your pocketbook!

Did you know that approximately 80% of dogs and 70% of cats develop some form of periodontal disease by the age of 3? It’s often undetected by pet owners, but what may look like just a little tartar or slightly red gums could be more serious. Bacteria from periodontal disease doesn’t ‘just affect your pet’s teeth and gums—it can negatively impact organs such as the kidneys, heart, or liver and as a result can reduce your pet’s overall lifespan.

Most pets won’t show symptoms of pain or stop eating even when suffering from advanced dental disease. Despite the lack of obvious pain, many pets seem a lot happier and more energetic after their dental cleanings.

So, once again in honor of  National Pet Dental Health Month, we are offering a $100 off dental cleaning special through the month of February at our partner My Pet’s Animal Hospital. (Offer good only at My Pet’s Animal Hospital, for dental procedures only, not valid with any other offer.)

Examining dental health is one of the main well-care services provided by the vets at PetWellClinic®, so you can bring your pet in for a consultation and, if needed, we can help you make an appointment for a dental prophy at My Pet’s Animal Hospital.

If it’s confirmed that your pet has developed periodontal disease, the veterinarians at My Pet’s Animal Hospital will remove the bacterial infection and relieve any associated pain through a procedure called a dental prophy. This procedure will also decrease the chance that bacteria in your pet’s mouth will enter the bloodstream and infect the kidneys, heart, or liver.

During a dental prophy procedure, the veterinarian will use an ultrasonic scaler to remove all plaque on the teeth and near the gums, and will then polish and treat the teeth with fluoride to eliminate any areas where plaque might form. Your pet will be anesthetized and monitored while the cleaning is performed, and afterwards will given pain relief medication and a course of antibiotics.

Keeping your pet’s mouth free of periodontal disease is our goal at both My Pet’s Animal Hospital and PetWellClinic®. We love doing dentals because it’s a procedure that has a huge reward—relief from pain and infection and improved overall health and longevity!

PetWellClinic® can help you determine whether or not your pet has dental disease, and how best to treat it. By operating convenient hours for non-surgical care, PetWellClinic® is also able to offer substantially discounted prices for routine exams, vaccinations, safe and effective flea and tick preventative products, and treatment of minor conditions. We offer quick in-and-out service during convenient evening and weekend hours with no appointment necessary.
